We sure would appreciate some feeding tips--
We have 2 steers one for ft worth weighs about 750 and one about 650 for Houston--
Then a nice late July heifer probably weighs 650-700.
Can you feed all together or should son feed heifer seperately?
Our feed ration is currently about a 13% protein and 2-2.5 fat.
We feed hay nice clean coastal in the mornings about 1/2 sq bale block each.
Gets hot down here so wondered if should feed less during summer? Also how big of pen do you keep in? Do you ever let them eat grass (lots of nice green grass right now ) also what type feed troughs and what height? Back in my old show days we had them stand on railroad ties when they ate?? Still not sure if it made a difference!?!
All calves are sired by paddy omalley out of Maine angus dams.
Thanks
