Has anybody ever tried this? I am seeing a lot of good things being done by him in the purebred char world and I was wondering if anybody has used him to cross with other breeds with any luck. Does he offer any added soundness or make them softer middled? Are is calves easy doing?
Thanks!

Firewater will not make them soft middled or easy doing but will make one real flashy and cool looking they will be sound. You can get the calves to be good middled but won't be the biggest middled out there.

I think Brandon Horn has several Charolais Crosses that could work on some Maine's. I agree with Mainevent, FW probably would be too much in the equation. They would be too 'horsey' and harder doing.

If you are looking at charolais influence bulls I agree with Telos. Look at Brandon Horns sire lineup like Solid Gold, he has a bull he calls pump daddy that I think could work as well.

Bogarts blondes may give you an idea of what to expect when firewater is bred to commercial cows as he has several F1 firewater daughters right now.  In his avitar he had some of the pictures of these cattle.

The Firewaters are good cattle, I had a Firewater/Red Angus daughter produce a nice steer last year out of a Blonde/MaineX Commercial bull. Picture attached. The picture isn't the best but gives you a decent idea. The calf was born at 85 lbs. and weaned at 835 lbs. at 210 days on no creep!

IMO I would be breeding to Revelation. I have had some very excellent calves off of a son combined with commercial cows.
