I hate that.  I guess that is why I still have the phone in hand when I'm watching online... Not that I've bought that way a lot.

We learned the hard way that if you really want the animal you had better call right before they get to it.  The one we learned on we called on the 1st lot just to make sure that the sale and the computer were right on and they were, we bid several times and my system showed that I had the winning bid and then it was announced that someone at the sale ended up with it, needless to say I was livid, won't make that mistake ever again.  We ended up with one later in the sale, but bid over the phone, it's a great tool, but if you really want it you had better get on the phone.

i have high speed....im not really sure what happened...but the pic froze on the lot right before, 26 i think...i was messaging that person that helps you telling him it was frozen....then suddenly it came up, lot 23, i got one bid in, he told me to hit f5 to refresh, which it did...and i  put another bid  in but it sold before my second bid went thru...he told me i missed it by one second....ugh...sad part is, i had someone there that could have bid for me, but i told him i had it under control i was doing it online...chalk this one up to another lesson learned...

I've actually had more problems with phone bids then internet bids lately.  The last 3 sales I've tried to bid on over the phone have had problems. Today we did another phone deal and it actually worked.

Last year I had a bull in SD that I wanted to go after. Had the guy on the phone, told him to take the bull to $2500 and we'd yes/no from there. He heard $2500 and the call got dropped on his cell phone. Started calling back numbers trying to get a hold of him, finally got him and the bull went for $2600.

Next sale was in Canada. We were in on the first bull in the ring. Guy said he couldn't hear us so he called us back. Said the bull went for $5700, but he couldn't hear us so he never bid (we told him to go to $6000).

Last week I was in on another bull out of SD. Bull was supposed to be in the ring at 1:15. Sat by the phone and it never rang. Finally called the guy at 1:20 and they were on the next lot in the sale. He couldn't dial out for some reason so he bid him to a level he thought we wanted and we got him.

Today we were in on another bull in Canada. This time we had them on a landline and had them call our landline. Everything worked perfectly. I don't think I could handle another problem, or else I'd have to start putting on some serious miles to hit all these sales!

Don't know what company you dealt with, but how would you have felt had you PAID for the privilage to NOT get your bid in?

I hate cell phone bidding, I've done it and seem to get static when its go-time.  Thought I had one bought  once, told the guy to bid at 2600, he me that they knocked her off at 2400. I did not get her!. Bought my second choice and by the looks of the calf, I'm glad I got this one!!!
