Some put foam on them.  Most are a blow and go and depending on the show, you can use some final bloom.  Check your rules closely,

Read your rules, some are nothing in the hair, some are just you have to be able to comb through the product.  If they allow products, use the purple aussie pump hair spray.

Do your work @ home. It pays off more @ a no fit show than a fit show. It's like giving it to you if you have worked on your's @ home. Work the hair so that it will respond better than the guy that doesn't do his homework.

Our county fair allows NOTHING.
Kansas State Fair and KJLS rules state
Show is a “no fit” show. “No Fit”, at the Kansas Junior Livestock & Kansas State Fair
is defined as using no adhesive, glue, paint or powder products.

shaving cream its not a adhesive powder glue or paint. hold the tip of your blower up and spray the can lightly and it will fog it on, brush through and dry. it makes the hair a little stiffer and more bodied looking, i did it all summer last year and when i used glue it was pretty trained

I smear the shaving cream all over the body. Then I brush(Farward OR 45°) it in real good and blow it in. I've don't the way Zack is talking about and to me it just makes a mess (it blows every were).

Agree with CJC, if you're going to use shaving cream or foam work it into the leg hair, the aussie sprunch holds better with less mess.

Whatever you use try it at home and make sure you are happy with it on your calf, make sure you can run comb through easily if a comb gets stuck you will be disqualified.

take a plastic wash brush and cover it in shaving cream and then bursh legs up over and over and over and after awhile they will stay put pretty good.

It just takes some practice using the blower with shaving cream.  Not that hard, and if I can do it then anyone should be able to!

We only have a couple of no fit shows and they are no chemicals in the hair so we just brush and comb if you work the hair at home everything will work at the show. We can get a really hairy calf ready faster at a fit show than at a no fit. It just takes a lot more blowing and brushing to get things to stay in place with out the adhesives
