Have a 5 year old MAX Open Range x Angus cow that I might flush this spring. Was thinking something along the lines of Walks Alone. She's TH/PHA free by pedigree

We've never done embryo before and want to know about how much it costs? How many embryos do you usually get out of one flush?

Cost varies. My guy charges 250 to flush,25 an egg to freeze and 50 to put in. You never know how many a cow will produce until you try her. National average is around 9 -10.

Just make sure you find a facility you are comfortable with and trust. Talk to other people in your area that have had luck with flushing. There are a few in our area and some have super reputations and others not so much. We flushed a first calf heifer after her calving and she dropped 17 eggs and 12 were good number 1's. Here recently flushed a cow with someone else and they flushed a 9 year old cow and she dropped 5 good eggs. It just depends on the cow. They may drop a bunch of eggs and only a few are good. That is the risk. Call a few facilities find out what there fee schedule is.

Nice cow - you might want to get her tested for AM and NH before you flush her.

OB - the twins look great
