I used one bull AI . Troubadour and the rest ran with 329 and A&T Captain Obvious. I really wanted to try a couple of bulls. We bred 2 DR to Troubadour (3/4Char)

Paint Valley Shorthorns has ....  really nice ball caps ;) . If you visit he is sure to hand one out. Jsf Sir Patrick is the bull walking there in OHIO. I am sure a number of really good bull calves will be available . Including the full brothers to NITRO , NORDIC and GERONIMO.

Nice bulls everybody!!! <beer> I will say it's nice to see so many different bloodlines and colors with all the bulls. Not seeing a bunch of Trump sons and I think that is great. Good luck Hilltop with that Hawkeye, he looks the part for sure.

If anybody is looking for DR semen I have a bunch on my bull Leveldale Mr. Right. He is a BUF CRK Cherokee Canyon x RB Eagle 148. His dam is the Missie Ruth cow that just had a daughter top Denver. I know everybody has slammed Canyon but my bull has done a great job.Him and a son are both seeing heavy use in two commercial herds. I am going this weekend to take some pics of all the bulls I own a part of and put them up here.

Thanks for sharing everybody!

Thanks for all the positive feedback on our walking bulls.
JIT....... You have me nervous now already! Daffodil is bred to Matrix and if she has another bull calf next year there is a good chance he may be the Ol Boy's replacement. We are hoping anyway. I guess it will be Lil Hilltop's final decision though. (lol)
Mark... What frame score would 55" at 30 months be?? There is probably a chart but I honestly do not know how to figure frame. To me there is too big, too small, and just right.
Here is one rear shot of Hawkeye from end of April. He is actually with a group of later caling females yet and has lost some condition, but has still kept his lower quarter well. I know he has bred 20+ females.
Not sure if we got any rear of the other two. Matrix was the bull that was injured in May and we are hopeful he will make a full recovery so both us and JIT will have him to walk at least one more year. He was walking on one back leg for a full month and did loose some muscle mass but is barely limping now and is looking quite good. I think the mosquitos are harder on them all now then breeeding.

We have 4 bulls walking which was too many for the amount of females we run until one bull injured himself in May!!
First bull is Star P Matrix owned with JIT. He is 7 years old now and I wish he was two. His offspring have been tremendously thick with the best dispositions of any bull we have ever used.
Second Bull is ACC General. He is a moderate framed son of Northern Legend that we are using on our bigger red cows and commercials. He is about 55" tall at 30 months. What frame size would that make him? :-\
Third is Me N' My Hawkeye that my daughter has raised out of her first purebred shorthorn that she started her herd with. He is a Saskvalley Pioneer.
Fourth that we don't have a pic of is Diamond Urban Legend who is a full brother to Regal Legend.
A.I'n  has kind of went on the back burner as long as Matrix will be walking here.

BIF Chart would put him at just over a Frame 5

We are probably in the extreme minority that did not AI a single cow this year.  All of our calves born will be natural service from our three herd bulls.

We liked our Red Diamond calves so much that we bred almost everything back to him, with a couple bred to our young white bull (which we recently sold...thanks Wes!).  I think we might take a picture of Red Diamond this fall as a 2 1/2 year old. If he liked being haltered, we'd probably show him this fall.  He's really gentle, just a goof on the halter.  He's HUGE footed, moderate framed, very good muscled, and is holding his condition really well for a 2 year old.  We only AI'd a couple to TM Gus, and also SULL Roan Goose. I think we got one bred to Hired Man too.

Only breeding a few this year, but useing Broken B's Mommas Boy (Rose TIP 6175xK-Kim Cruiser son) and DF Tuscaloosa for the most part.  Bred one to X-Ray Vision, still think that guy has some usefulness in the right places.  Embryos out of WHR Sonny and HD Bloodstone.

I ran my new herd bull Lakeside Doc Clark on most of my cows this year but I did do some AI'n to Capiche and Aviator.  I also used TM Gus and Goldspear in a couple flushes that we put some embryos in.  My Fiancee has some calves comming by Marquis, Mr. Gus and Lovings bull JSF Prestige.

Davis last year when I was at Sue's Doc Clark and Geronimo were my favorites! Hope his calves turn out good for you.

Mark, who has Free For All? I notice you are pretty high on the bull. I think he is a mostly red bull? I remember a add on him standing on a hill in front of a red barn? I don't feel like going thro my HUGE pile of Shorthorn Countries to find it. I may be thinkin of a different bull. I wish we wouldn't get hammered on the roans here. I would love to use red neck roans. Always exciting when your black angus calved to them. I had good luck with making blue roans and crazy loud calves back in the day. (7 years ago) Best blue roan I ever made was actually out of a brown/ white face simmental cow. Took a beating at the local sale barn with those calves. Hence I gave that place the new name of United Reducers. Starting breeding solid red from that point on. (dog)

That Rose TIP donor got bred to X-Ray this year.  Should be kinda cool.  Time will tell.  Haven't seen one out of her that I didn't like.

Free For All is a Sonny-Double Vision Draftpick- hes clean,-hes on the home page of SPlanet under the cattle max ad-or any semen deal.-I have a red bull caf out of my Cumberland doner-Under 80 pounds at birth-(have baby pics)-Hes the best one Ive ever produced(at 3,5 months) hes gonna need to be showed, and would be a hiefer bull. One of my Free For All hiefers was listed under big show-"monopolysteer -free for all for sale-"now on page 2:They are at NCK21s-basically a commercial operation-and at 4 months have just started on creep-shes really what Im trying to produce-and wont leave without embryo rights.Yea Yea there may be a better one-but not out of my cows-and not that bodied up (for a shorthorn caf) out in 100 degree heat-and funky old prarie grass.
