Looking for breeders with experience using these two half blood Simmental bulls or Cattmen that have seen and evaluated the offspring of these two sires.

Which of these two bulls below do you like best for making good replacement females for the production of club calves.

Griswold's GCC Whizard: Steel Force x Chill Factor/Angus cow.

Roger's Outsider: Built Right x Witch Doctor/Cross cow.

Is there a certain type of cow that they work best on?  Your comments, please?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Not to change the subject but, could I suggest a 3rd if you are looking for 1/2 blood simmi that will make clubby mommas:

Banshee-  Pinnacle Sires, http://www.pinnaclesires.com/sires.html
Sire: Built Right
Dam: Anita Loan

I saw some awesome females out of him last year.  However he just died and his semen jumped up in price. They also added a son to their line up for 2017- S.O.B. (I have not seen him)

Whizard is my go to bull when I can't decide what to use. He's good calving and the offspring are very easy keeping. I haven't kept any for myself because they are usually my sale highlight females. I have a yearling heifer that will be at MI beef expo next weekend that is darn good.

Did the cows have a lot of white on them?

Calves were Black and Black baldy with some white behind their navel.  Cows were solid black with clubby breeding. (a little bit of everything).

What do you mean?  "Not to change the subject"?  Seriously?!  The subject was...asking for comments from breeders with experience using two, proven, half blood, Simmental Sires, Whizard and Outsider, for making replacement females?  Then you go on, explaining of a bull that you "saw" calves out of and the bull is now DEAD.  But there is a son out of him. Again, Seriously?

Sorry for my rant.

I don't have any experience with Whizard, but I do have a couple out of Outsider. My first Outsider calves are just calving their first calves now. So far no trouble at all with their calving abilities (though part is from dam side too). For the past 3 years I breed a handful of heifers to the Outsider. They come out small and grow great. They look very feminine. However, I feel as though they lack depth overall.

Point taken- I should have started my post "I am going to change the subject". Sorry to waist your time.

Would you say GCC Whizard is heifer safe? I know a lot of the bred heifers in Jimmy Martin's sale used to be bred to Whizard and then it kind of went away. Thought maybe it was because he wasnt as surefire calving ease as they originally thought?

His calving ease numbers have improved steadily in the last 3 years.

Both excellent bulls from reputable owners. For what its worth neither is advertised  as a calving ease bull.Griswold says use with caution on heifers and Outsider would fall in same category.Theres is nothing worse than having to pull or C-section a good heifer you have high hopes for.I know of bulls that had huge birthweights that when advertised seem to always have an 80 some birthweights. How many bulls in all the  sire directories are over 90 and I cant think of one over 100#.We don't anymore but used to weigh some calves at birth and we seldom have a calf under 85/90 lbs and many 90+.But we have nice sized cows and try to keep them in shape.I have had C-sections hard pulls and have had a PHA calf and seen some TH calves and none of them were fun.
