Just pondering some things today as I was checking cows.  I was wondering if you have a recip cow that is a genetic defect carrier and set an embryo in her, can the resulting calf recieve a genetic defect from the recipient cow?

No- the genetics will be from the donor cow. Actually a good use for genetic defect carriers is using them as recipient cows

We've got a great 1/2 blood out of a good Angus donor cow that has been banished to the recip pen.  She'll be pretty in the pasture for years to come, but doesn't get to have her "own" baby anymore!  Thank you, Precision blood.
