I asked this same thing awhile back (before Glucoat really had a chance to be tried by alot of people) and got a few replies (opinions), but just curious now since it has been out awhile what is everyone's opinion of this product?  (just looking for more opinions)  Is it worth the extra $$?  Do you feel that is added fat/cover?  It is supposed to be sugar based, help with calmness, keep them on feed better, etc. and it is advertised to replace any other fat supplement that you may use.  Have you had any successes/failures with it?  Just looking for some more opinions/advice about it.  We have used Honor Power Fuel in the past, but are curious to see if GLucoat is enough to replace it and still get the same advantages as Power Fuel?

My opinion is Glucoat is nothing but overpriced molasses. We are feeding Stabilized Rice Bran in our ration. Better than Glucoat. Does everything Power Fuel does, just cheaper. I would save myself some money and not waste it on Glucoat. Just my opinion.

The label says it is mostly molasses (42%) and "moisture,"  (34%) which I take to be water.  There is also fish oil and some other stuff.  It is 3% fat, so must not be much fish oil in it.  I have a jug of it, but the steers don't seem to like it.  I can buy a 5 gallon pail of feed grade molasses for $25 and water it down and buy a bag of Sure Champ pellets and get the same thing for a third of the money.  For $90 it is overpriced IMO, not to mention the shipping cost on top of it.

We had a hard feeding steer for ft worth and we tried both the rice and glucoat.  He would not touch the rice but did eat the glucoat, it did what it was supposed to do...he had a good cover of fat.

Its true the cost of glucoat is high of any brands but helps to make them healthy. Also molst og the glucoat contain same 3 fatty acids from fish oil which helps to make  bright and shiny hair coat as well as the the cell-rate helps to make the bull muscle and fat. If you cant afford the glucoat then the grain and other healthy food is another option.
