We have a Cigar x Limmi cow that we would like to AI but I am not sure who to use. This will be her 4th calf and all of her calves have been big. He smallest weighed 96lbs the other two were 100+lbs. She has never had any calving problems and all three times she was bred to calving ease bulls so the size comes from her. She is a large cow and she throws a lot of size and muscling in her calves. Her calves have been good solid calves I am looking for something that will add  more of a showy look without adding any size and it has to have a low birthweight.  I would love to bred her to something like Heatwave but I am afaid she would have a monster. Any suggestions?? Thank you!!!

Jake's Proud Jazz, from what I have heard he will moderate without giving up depth of body and his calves are still really showy

You may be able to use northern improvement or BC Lookout.  Lookout throws them smaller and has a ton of look for an angus.  I just got done looking at a bunch of fall baby Lookouts and I thought that they were tremendous.

SKF, Do you have to ask ? JPJ for sure !! You could get all sorts of color out of that mating and a calf that will show.

If you're interessted in Maines, you might consider Witch Doctor.  He makes them real showy but sometimes a little small if the cow isn't very big.

I had thought about that but I was not sure how she would cross with a shorthorn because of the limmi in her. I don't think I have seen any limmi shorthorn crosses before. I think it would be intreresting.

Heat Seeker has always seem to bring them down a tick. Who also seems to moderate size.
i am anxious to see our JP calves.

Northern Improvement did not downsize our cattle at all. They were some of the fanciest calves and showy but they were not small.

I would think Copy Right, OCC Legend, or any of the smaller OCC bulls. Clubbie bulls, maybe Eyes on the Money, Johnney Walker Red. The Northern Improvement's won't be smaller. Brent

Let me throw in my 2-cents here and suggest a nice lowline bull.  At the KC lowline sale the top selling percentage heifer was by Bluey out of a Red Hot (Heat Seeker) cow, plus the jr. percentage heifer was by Wandoo (Bluey's sire).  Get a low birthweight, moderate frame size with lots of style and class -  plus feed efficiency to boot!  You can see these heifers on the showchampions.com website, under American Royal.  You can't miss them...they're the only red ones shown ;) .

WMW would be a good match for your cow IMO.

A HW Son that I have seen some good ones out of that seems to be not all that Popular anymore but may be a good fit is Rock Star.  With tha Angus on the Dam side your BW's will come down.  From what I've seen you will get good hair and style and should be downsized.
