42. When you go to buy bread in the grocery store, have you ever wondered which is the freshest, so you 'squeeze' for freshness or softness? Did you know that bread is delivered fresh to the stores five days a week? Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturda y. Each day has a different color twist tie.
They are:
Monday = Blue,
Tuesday = Green,
Thursday = Red
Friday = White
Saturday = Yellow.
So if today was Thursday, you would want red twist tie; not white which is Fridays (almost a week old)! The colors go alphabetically by color Blue- Green - Red - White - Yellow, Monday through Saturday. Very easy to remember. I thought this was interesting. I looked in the grocery store and the bread wrappers DO have different twist ties, and even the ones with the plastic clips have different colors. You learn something new everyday! Enjoy fresh bread when you buy bread with the right color on the day you are shopping.

Don't forget Gatorade for Migrain e Headaches. PowerAde won't work. Pass this information on to friends so they can be informed.

Hope you don't mind if I add one--- :)

To remove skunk spray from person or pet mix one bottle of hydrogen peroxide and one small box of baking soda together then add 2-4 squirts of liquid soap (you must add the liquid soap as it acts as the  binder).  Smear this paste on and work into skin or whatever then rinse off.
I used this ol trappers recipe when trapping hay barn skunks. Got a lil on me once... :(
It will work to put in the washer as well for clothes just run another empty load with the same ingredients when you are finished and DO NOT let Momma catch ya.... (lol)

Don't forget about hydrogen peroxide on stains, even blood.

And coke in the wash machine will get fitting stains out in a snap. Fill washer with hot water, 1-12 ounce can of Coke, detergent and jeans. Let agitate for a few minutes, then stop the machine so the jeans can soak. Once the water is nasty, let the machine do the rest of the work.

I gotta get the kids to try this, they are always a mess after a show covered in paint usually

I use the powdered chalk that you use to fill a chalk line with to determine if our calves our actually nursing.  When the cow is delivering the calf or when  I go in to rub the calf down, etc.  I use the "ketchup bottle-like"container that the chalk comes in to "puff" the powder on her udder.  Later if the calf has nursed it will be clean (at least a quarter or two)and I've even seen the color on some of the calves noses.  Takes some of the guesswork out of whether or not "Junior" has gotten any supper while you were away!!

I use WD-40 and one of the "orange" hand cleaners to take grease off my hands.  Spray em with WD-40 first and then wash with GO-JO or something like it and it really peals the grease off.

I also scrape my metal shovels(sand shovels, spades, etc) or any other metal tool I use with a putty knife after using them and then spray them with WD-40.  Really keeps shovels from gettting rusty and developing pits in the metal.  A shiny shovel is much easier to use and to keep clean especially if the dirt is tacky!!  Once the metal is pitted it is almost impossible to keep mud from sticking to it!!

What if the chalk is rubbed off by something else that is wet.  Or like in this weather the chalk would not work.

Jamie,

You're right it probably wouldn't work very well in wet situations.  You'd have to pick your opportunities to use it.  We normally have our cows in the calving barn for a day or two after their calves are born so it works pretty well for us.    Sometimes you don't even need it.  If the cows udder is a little dirty you can usually tell if its been nursed or if its not as full as it was earlier.  Just another trick that works for us sometimes when we think its an advantage.
