Kansas State football coach Ron Prince is expected to announce his resignation this afternoon, two sources close to the situation told The Eagle.

Prince will, however, coach the remainder of the season, one source said.

According to the sources, Prince has scheduled a 2:45 p.m. meeting with his team and will later hold a conference call with the media.

Just heard that Prince is out after the end of the year. I vote they go after Chris Peterson the Boise State coach or get Brent Venables out of Norman and back to Manhattan. I just hope they go after a big name coach they need to turn around the program quick or Manhattan will be in alot of trouble. Should be interesting.

Paging Brett Bielema.

Not that I think it would happen, just like starting a Big 10 rumor.

I would assume Gary Patterson would have all kinds of interest in that position.

How do you know a coach is hated? Two people announce his resignation on a cattle sight within minutes of eachother. The list of head coaches with K-State ties is almost unbeliveable. Off the top of my head I think there are 4 head coaches who were former KSU assistants with teams in the top 25. I would be happy to have any of them back (except the fat man can stay in Lawrence). I think Venables shows alot of potential if given the chance to be a head coach, I thought they should have hired him last time.

I think that they are going after Venables.  At this point in the season, with other teams firing their coach and him being one of the top Asst. Coaches in the nation I think that KSU had to get rid of Prince now so that they could actively start looking for a coach and start talking to him.

How about Snyder, with Venables as Assistant but with a guarantee to take over the program in 2 years.
