Any opinions on the guyer bull GRIZZLY?
Have been wonderign if i should use him on our first calf heifers?
Any other ideas for breeding about 40 rookie heifers to please post, would like sim influenced
Intentions of calves are to keep back as replacments to start a club calf herd.
Thanks
Andrew

Got to see some the other day. The ones that I saw were calved unassisted from first calf angus heifers. The heifers were very common for quality, but I didn't feel that Grizzley improved them very much. Also very little white in the faces if that makes a difference. Over all not bad calves, but sure not a great one. Hope this helps a little.

Dream On is better on BW epd's for calving ease, but, I am not a simmi person. We have quiet a few on here. Goldmine is another simmi commonly used for calving ease.
Dream On has not throw a ton of hair from what I have seen.
What is the base on your heifers? If you are starting with heifers you definitely want to use something that has been proven to give consistent results.

38 heifers are 100% angus wether they be commercial or registered
1 smallish Step Aside X Angus heifer
1 sim/angus 50/50 white underline
of these 13 are rollover falls from october 07, 17 are spring 08 heifers
Would love to hear more ideas on what works for good consistent calves out of angus first calf heifers
Thanks in advance
Andrew

Ranchhand has worked well for us.  The only thing I can pick about is that he does not add any bone at all but they are all alive and the mommas are fine and that is what counts
