She is registered as a 75% Maine, we have a "full sib female  to Habenero", she milks  well and has made a great cow.

Okay thanks! But one person says she is 50% maine and another says 75%.....does anybody know for a fact what she is?

Habanero is a Pistol Pete.  His dam is a Power Plant.  The same cow is the dam of Dr. Hook, Captain Hook, Larry the CAble Guy and a couple other bulls being used

I had the pleasure of flushing Habinero's GREAT GRANDMOTHER in the late 80's, I think she was a Sweet Willy if I can remember right, or meybe she was flushed to Willy -- long time ago. She was predominately Sim-Angus though. One of the resulting hfrs was later sold to JD Anderson, and they bred that hfr to Power Plant resulting in Habinero's mother.

That hfr was not too easily broke to lead or show, so they ended up selling her in one of thier sales. She was bred to Pistol Pete to get Habinero, born in 1993

Just some memories that surface once every so often!! Good ones too.

The owner of the old great-grand mother is one of my best friends today -- in fact -- he now manages the cow herd for JD. Small world for sure!

That might explain the attitue of all the Dr. Hook idiots I've dealt with.

I can't answer for sure, but I copied the information straight off of my registration papers, the upgrade chart may have changed since then.
