Looks like a nice set of cattle. Late sales seem to be softer but I hope this is the exception since it is great set of consignors. I like M-Bars Kendra heifer, she is out of the same cow family as TM Gus. I have never seen a individual out of that family I didn't like and she has a strong outcross pedigree. I only wish she was bred to a shorthorn bull but that might make her alittle more affordable.

I would agree with ITK. offering looks good. I like the lot 1 cow and the TH Free Moonshine cow from Tammy's. I always thought the moonshines would work up here in my country if they were clean.

Hey Mechanic,

Our Myrtle Bo cow is out of ArSuLu Moonshine and she is clean.  She's the one pictured in our Avatar.  We have a really nice Vortec heifer out of her this year(she's on our website) and I have nine more full sib embryos in the tank.    We really like "Myrtle" and I'll be flushing her again this winter and then breeding her for a natural calf in May.  Any ideas on a good bull to use on her??

Let me know what you think!!

Unfortunately, I will not be making it to this sale, but some of my cattle  and one of my stock trailers will be there. I was supposed to be delivering these cattle, but I am not able to get away now. My friend, Bill Huber is taking them down and picking up some cattle they purchased in the Sullivan, Cyclone Trace and B Good sales this fall. By the way, the Huber sale is on December 20th and there is a great set of cattle selling in it as well.

Major Leroy would work . he adds thickness and butt.... and his calves have the greatest temperments. Dunbeacon Shorthorns in Australia have over 70 Leroy calves. They are calling them their best set of bulls.... ever, and they say they have never seen a set of calves with better dispositions.

Saskvalley Pioneer is another good choice. His calves have enough frame and have lots of style. Some really good Pioneer's are surfacing. Ask The new Executive Secretary of the ASA about Pioneer. He is a real fan and says the Pioneer calves at NDSU are a powerful set. He even bred some of the purebred Angus herd at NDSU to him.

Lynn: i knew I liked the cow in your avatar. I have a Leroy daughter we bought from Grant in the Fever sale and like her alot. Grant is right they have a tremendous amount of hip and top and will be very efficient cattle for the future. I would suggest our bull HVR Gold 002 3119 that is pictured in my avatar. He has exceeded our expectations here at Hunt Farms. His daughters are going to be fantastic cows. A son was Reserve Canadian National Champion at the Royal in November. Semen is available in the US.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the input on bull choices.  I already had TM Gus, Pioneer, and Major Leroy high on my list.  I guess I may have to take a closer look at HVR Gold, too!!

I posted pictures of Myrtle and our Dream Girl cow on another post  so I wouldn't  hijack this thread any further.  If you have any ideas about Maine bulls I'd like to know that as well.  It seems like the Maintainers sell better than Shorties around here!!

Thanks again for your input!!
