I am sure that was NOT funny when it happened, but I did laugh when I read it. I would have probably pee'd my pants if I was there, but glad no one got hurt.

If you do get the calf halter broke, I'd suggest walking it around other cattle, dogs, passing cars etc.  I  was having problems with my 11 year olds steer.  I started walking him down our county road about 40  min. every evening.  He doesn't seem to be spooked by anything now.  I'm not going to lie.  The first few cars that go by, might just get you a little skinned up.  Heck, whats a few scratches to protect your child.

I agree it is funny now. Would have made a great YouTube video. The 4-H kid is too old to show now but ever year was an adventure with his steers. Once his cow got out of his fencing and went all the way to town.
