what hay is best for show cattle??

What ever you have good acess to at affordable prices.  We use a lot of Coastal, Johnsongrass, and Sudan/haygrazer.

We feed ours a mixture of clover and orchard grass and they love it.

We have a lot of clover in ours as well.  Our hay is a Hinds 57 and the cows love it.

I feed the show heifers a mixture of grass hays. It's mainly timothy & bluegrass w/ very little clover & alfalfa. They do very well on it.

Back when we used to get rain we only fed fescue and orchard grass in the show barn. Now we feed anything that will go through the baler.
