I have a Heat Wave steer for sale that I bought at Mike Mimms in March.  He is very gentle and has been shown all over Texas.
He is slick sheared from the Dallas fair show.  He weighed in at 1235 lbs. He is a Heatwave x F Flush x F22  I am asking $1.25 per pound.  We brought him home hoping to put more belly on him but we have since aquired a Heifer and dont have the room.  His Dob is 8-12-07.
Thanks

Do you have any additional pictures that you can post or send me?  The birth date of this steer is perfect for what I am wanting.

Thank you in advance.

just wondering.. What is the ring in a steers nose for??/
<hero>

Can't speak for everyone, but I know why we put nose rings in, that would be why he is very gentle (clapping)

This particular steer has a nose ring because when we first got him he would put his head down and take off.  That was back in March and April.  He isnt
mean and has never been but when he weighed 650 lbs and would haul on you there was no way to stop him.  I do however have one at home that has
the ring in his nose because he is MEAN.  Just plain down right mean.  He should have been kept a bull and sent to a rodeo company.  The steer in the picture
is very sweet and has never given me much problems except the usual breaking stuff eons ago.

Did he not make the sale at Dallas?  From what I can tell by a photo, he looks like a pretty good slick calf.  If he was weighing 1235 full, you could hold him for Fort Worth pretty easy.

No he didnt make the sale there were 30 calves in his class and I think they just sold the top three or something.  My CEA was really on me to keep him
until San Antonio or San Angelo but I have no room in my barn and we just got another heifer.  I would love to keep him, he is my buddy.  But I cannot
keep them all.  We have two other calves for the hair shows, and another for the slick shows.  We bought him just for Dallas, but he grew tall and long and just
started to put on the belly that everyone here wants to see on a calf.  He still has a ways to go, and wherever he goes down the road I know they will
be proud to have him in there string.  I just hope I dont regret this, would love to see him do well, but I dont want to compete against him later on.

We haven't shown at the State Fair in a while so I didn't remember how many they sold.  I think he looks like a pretty good calf.  There might be some county shows that have late tag ins.  Get your extension agent or ag teacher to send out an e-mail on the mass distribution lists they use.  I think he looks like a pretty nice steer.
