I have a Feb heifer that pops her back pasterns when she gets real fidgety or walks too fast. I know this is genetic. But is there anything else that might help, such as MSM or glucosamine?

what you are witnessing is a long fixed trait in the maine breed from their lack of travel from where they originate from, france.  there is probably some component that has been added from selecting for more posty legged "show type" cattle.  some will say they will settle on their pasterns.  look at some skeletons of cattle that have the same bone lengths, but are different heights due to the angle change in those bones.  what's desired is the elusive happy medium and preference whether cattle need to move or not very far.  looming hornets nest.

I believe Stride is good for that but doubt it will be a cure all.
