I'd like to know what heights on steers are the best come show time?  For Americans and say Limi's and Maine classes?  What is too tall?

on our slick calves we say 54-55 is to tall. ideal would be 50 to 52 probably on a calf with no hair since we want them shorter and more compact

I really think it is region. The past couple years our state fair steer champs were in the 49" to 50" range. It seems like once you hit 52" here you are considered big.

Aren't Americans a bit taller and acceptable?  And exotics a little shorter...?  Does getting em fat asap help slow down the height, or does it make a difference?

yes americans will run alittle taller and getting them fat can stunt their growth alittle bit on any calf
