I have a steer that either foundered or is lame. Limps bad on front leg and has a show in a weeks time. Any suggestions to help him walk better especially the day of the show. Also he may be slaughtered in the same amount of time so a drug that has limited time to slaughter is not an option! Thanks

The best advice will come from your vet!!! Most vets don't charge for a phone call!!!!

Worked with a bull that was diagnosed with 'Fescue Foot'.    Feet were hot, tender, and spongey to the touch at the coronet(where hoof meets lower leg).

Vet gave him antibiotics and a steroid which I can't remember.

Bull healed and was used but a year or two later later developed more foot problems and was shipped.

Are the feet hot??  If not,  not founder. Water bath or mud even better.  Let them stand in it, they will stay if it helps.  This is a 7 to 10 day deal. Arquel was the pain killer of choice years back,  withdrawal  is the problem
