is there something special you have to download to make a ad or a flyer?

Well the standard if going to be photoshop, illustrator, or other adobe product, but they cost.

Gimp is a free photoshop alternative and it doesn't have all the advanced features of ps, but it certainly will work.

We use Microsoft Publisher and then convert it to an Adobe .pdf before printing!
