I have a friend with a steer that needs to gain 40 lbs in 7 days.  His steer is just small, but is pure muscle and is fat - will grade atleast high select.

let it drink all the water it wants! I don't know if its already on free choice water but let it drink ,drink,drink.

K how is the best way to get him to drink and  not pee it all out b4 he gets weighed in. this kid isnt toooo far away but the line is LONG to weigh in and its hot (Im glad im like 5 min from the fairgrounds- less time in the trailer)! Isnt there something that like absorbs the water?

Salt his feed the morning before the weigh in, and give him water in line.

Stick a handful of table salt in his mouth before going to the weigh-in line.  Water him about half way down the line.
(be sure to take water from home if he is going from well water to city water)
