We raised registered Gelbviehs and havent ever bought a purebred gelbvieh female everything on the farm has been raised up from holstien angus cross heifers to purebred status by select AI over the past 22 years. Well yesterday we finally had our first cow 20 years later have a calf that showed some reflection on that holstien way back in the genetics. This calf is out of an old show heifer that is homo. black but here whole line has always had white udders, and the sire of the calf is hetero. black but not a single un-pure gelbvieh in his current 3 generation pedigree... but we went out and found this little dandy yesterday
