Zach, I to agree with JSchroeder. I too do not wish to solidify, agree, or even remotely agree with your statements. I am half the owner of the bull, and feel he should stand in the top % of the bulls of Denver 09. Benz has way too much good to offer the cattle industry as a whole, not to be considered one of the tops of 09. The video was a hard learning process. We will take any bulls for future video out into the sunlight where you have the oppurtunity to truly see the bull. I do not fault the guys that filmed it either. They agreed with us when we asked to have it pulled that it was not a fair representation of Benz.

The true test will be next spring when the large # of calves hit the ground. To all that purchased semen a big "thank You" for beliving in Benz.

WSCC,

I like benz alot, that's why we bought semen to cross some of our reg. Angus with him. I think and hope they will produce some good clubby mama cows for us.

What would you rate his caving ease at? Would you use him on some heifers?

zach, beating a dead horse but if you thought the video sucked for the reasons we are talking about, you wouldn't have been turned off of anything.

Jeferin,
I appreciate your confidence in Benz. We have around 400 comm angus cows that we used Benz on alot in hopes of the same cross you were considering. As far as birth weights, I believe that no one can tell you for sure what a bull will do. They are kinda like kids, even though you know their genetics they can always supprise you. I guess that is why I am about 6" taller than my brothers."

My opinion is that Benz is bred to be calving ease when you study his pedigree (ALI X Doc WhoX6807), but will i step out there and say he will be the next great Maine calving ease sire, NO WAY. After a couple of crops of calves I would be more willing to step out there on that branch.

However, I did breed over 60 first calf heifers to Benz as well as some of my sons best show heifers that will be first calving heifers. So, I have confidence in him but until I see the proof I do not want to say yes he will be calving ease for you. I respect the money, time and effort that you have invested in your cattle too much to say that right now. I hope you understand and respect that opinion.

I liked benz, considered using him on a very moderate framed pb maien heifer. i decided he wouldnt add enough size to her, but other wise he was a great match.
we used womanizer on twenty head of angus and sim/angus cows
also9 used 7 units of milk man and 4 units of power trip
used 26 of outter limits.. a great angus bull

The My Turns look good, so do the Unforgiven #22 calves.  He is  a Heat Wave x Cookie Monster(Flush/ Meyer).  i also like the Point Taken, Jimmy the Greek and Monopoly calves I have seen.
