My wife and I were given a half interest in a daughter of Hillcrestview Conquerer 28C as a wedding present, by mechanic ( Jim) who is also a SP member. Since we needed a name for this new partnership, we decided on Happy Wife- Happy Life Cattle Co. This cow was named Hillcrestview Georgia Peach 21G and she was a simply awesome female. I say " was" because we lost her a couple of years ago from a very bad stifle injury. In 2005 we decided to show her and her heifer calf at Canadian Western Agribition in the Maine show. She was the only fullblood in the show and they were named Reserve Grand of the show. The judge said she was the best female in the show, but he could not live with himself if he used a 2320 lb cow as his Grand Champion female. When we walked into the ring, the judge walked over to me and said " don't even tell me what she weighs ... I don't want to know. I will tell you right now that she is one of the most amazing females I have ever seen, even if I have never been a fan of big cattle".She was massive yet was very feminine, fertile and easy fleshing. Her heifer calf along side her weighed 980 lbs. We flushed Georgia Peach once and looking back, I wish we had flushed her more. We still have a fullblood daughter sired by Border Creek Future, who is now a coming 3 year old. Knabe and I were just talking about her a few days ago. I never weighed Georgia Peach when she was in her best condition, but I would safely say she was over 2400 lbs.
I remember Hillcrestview Conqueror 28C when he was shown and he was one of the best full blood Maine bulls I have ever seen... and while I have not kept up with all of today's Maine lines, I always liked his offspring. Both his sire, Star Michel 2 10M and his dam Horton Lilac were outstanding individuals.
I have attached a couple pictures of our Conqueror daughter, Georgia Peach. I was never able to get a picture of her that I thought displayed her size, body mass and soundness adequately. Believe me, she was a better beast than these pictures indicate.
