Has anyone had any calves? Have pictures and feedback on them? I know he has a shoulder, but you don't get one end without some of the other.

Thanks,

I think he was the highest selling sire group at Sullivans last fall.  I've seen some pretty good ones and he didn't throw the shoulder that I thought he would.  And i guess hes not as hard a calver as one might expect.  Well see how they do this summer in the show ring.

We had three this year, We only had one that coulda made a show steer, and the other two were just really good feedlot calves that weighed up good when we got rid of them.  The one that will be pictured is a Hired Man x Shorthorn Cow.  It made me mad because the calf is 3/4 shorthorn and came out pure black....not even a speck of white or anything...PURE BLACK.  we were gonna sell this calf in Valley City where we sold a steer that i posted on here earlier, but unfortunetely this calf had horns.  He ended up being a very heavy calf also...and up here we sell by the pound.  And when i took the pictures, the calves were just really starting to get in the creep feeders good.  He has a little bit of a loin, but after awhile he leveled out nicely.

That should be interesting to see, 16 grade 1's is a good flush for sure.  I just wondered if he's throwing the muscle? And glad he appears to not throw the shoulder....I think.
