Well, I've considered using Hannibal because I heard that he can make steers but also can make females. I'd like to keep all the heifers outta this one, but I'd also like to be able to have a decent steer if it came out a bull.
Thanks.

What I think is intersting about Hannibal is the amount of stature he tends to add for a Who son. He lengthens them up and usually adds a little size. If you used on a deeper soggier made female. They can get alittle tubey if used on the wrong cow.

Them's pretty nice! Actually, Mr. Hook was kind enough to reply to an e-mail I sent to him, and he suggested this bull. I like him.....

Had a girl in my 4-H club show a Hannibal heifer last year.  She a nice showy style to her but had NO guts to her at all.  Tried a bunch of different feed combos and still didn't get her to fill out any.  She was also really hard to get her to walk.  She would just lock her legs tight and wouldn't even move.  Even hooked her to a tractor and she just skied around the yard with all four legs locked tight.

I really like my hannibal heifers. Just have to really watch to make sure you breed him to something with ALOT of guts and a low center of gravity.  We are showing a hannibal heifer right now out of a debull cow.  She is the most feminine showy heifer we have ever shown, she is adequit in her depth of rib yet she could use a touch more guts. We usually have her good enough with the right ration, and show day feeding

Hello all SP membs. It has been a long time since I have posted, but I am glad to be back around. My opinion is that if she is a seasoned purebred angus cow, breed her to OCC Anchor. Many people have not seen what this bull can do yet. He is amazing at producing females with a ton of rib and thickness. I have not been disappointed in him a bit. If you are looking for a lower bw bull that could still produce great show calves Rocky Balboa is another one of my picks. I love the BW of these calves. We used him on all of our heifers this year, and we ended up with some pretty impressive calves. I love their hair, and the fact that our first calf heifers are having show quality calves.
