x2, couldn't of said it better myself..
although I think the baldy is more average, as most baldy's get attention to do a little added color...

agreed with these 2 previsous statements. Red is my fav, but baldy def catches your eye.
the truth said:you know I cannot believe nobody has said this yet, but if the black calf was set up in a manner like the other 2 are, then I think she might be as good as the blaze. I honestly don't see much difference in them, guessing half sibs?
If the black calf is the same black calf as in the blaze's picture, but with her rear towards the camera, then I think I'll take her over the baldy about any day of the week. She looks much thicker from that view. Both are still green, young, and need time. Personally, I'd rather see young calves built, shaped, and haired up like these-- than some clipped up hairball of a March or April calf that's had the creep hammered to it.
I agree. It looks like the red heifer has been creeped. And, the real winners are almost always black. Thats one of the biggest reason that nearly all haired cattle are cross breeding with THE Angus Breed. Angus Rules the cattle market (in both registered/commecial)
Interesting comment Sammie...sammie smith said:WOW! These are really nice heifers. My first question would be:
1. Are really the same age--the red heifer appears to be older and possible on feed as well.
2. I really like both black heifers--really like the ball face. Really sharp/attractive/eye catching.
3. Maybe the pictures are slightly deceptive to... It looks the red calf is closer or zoomed in more. And it looks like she has a lot of dew lap. Maybe not--maybe its the pic.
4. The two blacks look clean in the throat. Maybe not--maybe the picture....
5. In order to really compare these animals, start even. Be sure to see them in person and know who the breeder is and are they honest. Carma baby Carma. All washes out in the end.
If these calves are really the same age, I bet the blacks will take on the red heifer after they have been on feed the same amount of time. And--I bet the judges will like the black over the red with a really sloppy throat. Anyway, I will see you and these heifers in the ring! May the best WIN!
P.S. Don't forget to check your EPDs.
