Hours in the Barn

Just curious how long some of you folks have animals tied up for. Ours are in the corral most of the day, but come into the show barn for 2 hours every other day. Otherwise they are loose and not dragging a halter. So my answer is that our calves average 8 hours a piece per week.

Hopefully this poll makes sense and isn't overly complicated.

During the sumer, 60+ hours, in the winter maybe an hour a day

Not long in the winter, but in the summer they are tied up from sun up to sun down, sometimes 15-16 hours a day.

our calves are loose in our barn and cant go to a corral at the moment. january they might have access out there, but not now

our calves are tiied up tight fomr about 6 to noon and the tied low under fans the rest of the day. you guys who say 60+ hours, do you mean tight? or loose? or just int he barn a week or what? (seams like  a lot? haha

60 hours divided up by 7 days  comes out to about 8.5 hours per day. That is about how long our calves stay tied up in the summer time...wake up, rinse, feed, tie under fans for about 8-9 hours, feed, rinse, lay down

well I would say 60+ wintrer is about 8 hours a day under six fans summer is from dark to dark soooo 60+++++++

Dark to dark in the summer and winter! She is tied up under a fan and her slope loosely so she can eat and drink and lay down. And after school I go to the barn untie her and she gets a bath and blown down and groomed...then fed and outside!  (thumbsup)

that is 60+ per week we feed in the mornig tied down ussually tie up  early afternoon then work them and feed agaain after all other work is done usually around 6 pm 12+ hours a day X 7days a week figures out about 84 hours a week +or - a few
