Have been watching the weather reports and the flooding reports. How are you folks getting along up there.  As bad as the weather has been here in Southern Missouri we have had it good compared to you folks.

Just wanted to let all of you know that we are thinking of you.  Keep your chin above water.

In Sd we are having a bunch of roads being washed out. We keep getting tractors stuck in the yards trying to get cattle fed. But the last two days it has been very nice in the 50's which helped alot. I think I heard the news say we set a state record for the most days below 40 degrees, with 104 days!

There's been a lot of flooding around here (MN).  Closed a couple roads, a lot of creeks are flooding too. The fields all look like lakes. Luckily my county isn't as bad as some others.

In central Iowa, our snow is all but gone, except for that which is falling right now, and the large creek that runs through the pasture has started to go down.  It got up to just under bank full before dropping.  Our worst problem is now the mud.  We finally got to 40 degrees a week ago, hit 60 yesterday, and are now back at 32 with forecast lows to be 23 or so the next few nights before rebounding.  There is not one dry place on the farm, inside the buildings included, for calves.  We had near record snowfall, went 100 days without hitting 40, other than that, things have been good.  Our vets told me there have been quite a few week calves born.  I would say that is a combination of the prolonged cold and poor quality hay put up last year.  Three years in a row with excessive snow and/or ice takes a toll.  At least we shouldn't have to worry about the pastures drying up for a while.

We aren't in any of those states, but it has dropped 15 degrees in the past hour here, we are supposed to get hammered in the next couple of days, it has been one heck on a winter in the midwest!  I AM READY FOR SPRING!

I really don't know where your bad weather is coming from. Please don't blame us Canadians as we have had one of the nicest winters we have had in  a few years.  It did turn cooler here today with the odd snow flake falling but it is still close to melting. Supposed to be warmer again by Sunday. We only had a fraction of the snow here, that I saw when I travelled to Iowa in Feb. There has to be some way that Obama has to be at least partly to blame for this happening isn't there?

I'm blaming the bad weather on Obama, Pelosi, and Reid.  There really is no other explanation.

Here in central Iowa it has been pretty darn nice!! the creek finally started going back down got some hot wire put up on stalks and got cows let out, and even had time to get the motorcycle out for a bit! then about noon today the snow started and the ground is white again.  ;D  only in the midwest huh...  overall im pretty happy to see how fast water ran off the place and didnt stay sitting in pasture along creek after all the snow melted. Others are not so fortunate and our prayers are with you!

We had a 15-hour mini blizzard here in SE Wyoming and Eastern Colorado that looks to be moving out and heading to the midwest.  It is cold now - went from almost 60 deg. Wednesday to supposed to be 9 deg. tonight  Pretty sure the cold part came from Canada.

NW IA, 24 here this morning, alot of flooding, River is supposed to crest Sunday [Des Moines River]  ALOT of fences are GONE!  Between the flooding and the snow it took the fences out.  The ditches are still full of snow, and the south sides of hills still have alot of snow on them, But, they are calling for temps. in the 50's next week.  We had record snow fall for a season AND set record for days below 40, it hit 50 the other day, first time since Nov.  BOT THAT FELT GOOD!

We are about 75 miles east of Fargo, ND and we are actually fairing very well.  It is drying off quite nicely here.  Our feedlot is still a disaster but plenty of bedding down for the cattle.  We have some ditches in the area that are full and early in the week we had some water was out some county roads just a mile from our farm.  Thursday after noon we had tempature of 54 but this morning we are back to 19 at 7:00 a.m. but it is suppose to warm up to the mid 30s and we just had a couple snow flakes yesterday but for the most part all the snow is gone.

I live in SE Iowa. Have about 3 inches on the ground. Very wet, heavy snow. A bit breezy, but not bad. Still snowing.  I am not going to panic. I have other issues that concern me more right now.  Can't control the weather anyway, so why get my undies in a wad?
