i think he asks permission first, asks a couple of questions and then takes their picture.

questions could be:

what brings you joy about showing cattle?
what was the saddest day you have had showing cattle?
what was the happiest you were for someone else?

i think the point is to leave people's names out of it as employers search the internet more often now for hiring severely impacting free speech, hence avatar, screen names. people are less tolerant these days, on both sides.
