If you could flush this cow, what bull would you use?

Well, as everyone knows, it all depends on the judge. And doc's calves are very nice, at least the ones we've seen so we know he's doing a good job.  We'll have to see what happens in Denver when the big boys show up (jenkins/adamson).  they're pretty tough to beat.

I guess we could go on forever with who won what but the point is Lowlines work! I also know Schmit sold a 1/2 blood out of Low Beau for $9500

I simply wanted to point out that I also had a Lowline bull who isn't chopped liver.  That's it.

If Schmit sold a 1/2 blood out of Low Beau for $9,500, he didn't do it at public auction... not in recent years & not that I am aware of.  According to the ALR, EBC Margarita, the $9,500 high selling heifer in Denver, was sired by Tequila.  Since tequila is the liquor that is used in a margarita, it makes since that is not an error in their database.  Please don't take me the wrong way, it is an easy mistake to make, since Schmit did sell a $9,500 heifer, but it wasn't a Low Beau & I simply wanted to set the record straight.

Anyway, it's not a big deal and it is nothing against Low Beau.  He's obviously sired some winners.  But, facts are facts & he either has or he hasn't sired a $9,500 heifer.  I may be wrong & if I am, I will admit it.  However, I've double checked & I can't find any other $9,500 percentage heifers.   I'm sure it's a simply matter of confusion since Schmit did sell Margarita to Muddy Creek.  Also, it's possibly that he sold a heifer at private treaty that I don't know about.  Again, it's no big deal, I could've made the same mistake myself... I just wanted to point out the facts.

You are not kidding about it all being up to the judge... I still think my Shorthorn X was better than the Reserve Champion that we also showed at Louisville, but the judge liked a different type & nothing wrong with that.  The Reserve Champion was really nice too.

And you are right about Jenkins & Adamson, being tough to beat.  They are.  But, I do want to point out that Double J did show both percentage & fullblood females at Kansas City.  Both the 2008 Kansas City Reserve Grand Females (Fullblood & Percentage) were at Louisville, as was the 2007 Kansas City Grand Champion Percentage Female, and the 2008 NILE Grand Champion Fullblood Female.  The Louisville show may not have had all the elite Lowline cattle in attendance, but it certainly had some of the heaviest hitters that had been shown at the other 2 major fall Lowline shows that virtually all the other big boys did attend.  Denver will have more head, but I don't know that the competition will be any tougher or that much tougher. The Louisville Lowline female shows (both fullblood & percentage) were about as tough as it gets anywhere, IMHO.  Which is a good thing for us, because Doc sired a Reserve in one show & Bluey sired a Reserve in the other show.
