There is alot of info on the net on implants and implant strategies that will give you a good base to start with...

Is this for show cattle or commercial cattle??

Research. Obviously they've done none because there is a ton of information on the internet about implant programs, types, amounts, etc...

Asking a question like they did makes me think they heard someone else say "hey implants make your calf grow better and faster" so they thought hey I think I'll get some of those. They also didn't provide the basic information needed to give an accurate answer.

To the OP: Let me google that for you, http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Cattle+implants

He is correct to an extent.  You need to do a little research, and all you said were implants, there are a lot of different types of implants, most common being for growth of the animal.  Melatonin implants are what you are looking for if you are trying to use implants to grow hair.  Simplest and shortest way to answer you. Look to the left of your screen, scroll down through the ads. See the one that says want hair? click on it, its a source for Melatonin implants and has information.  You do need to do a lot of research though and make sure you know what your doin before trying to put an implant in, if you do it incorectly or crush the bead then you can cause some issues and major infections.

the implants are going to be expensive to, and they are not a 100% guarantee...it all depends on how the calf responds to them...and like everyone else says all the time...you can implant, feed every supplement on the market, pack them in ice if you want...if the genetics are not there they arent going to grow 4" of hair, but amount of hair isnt most important thing, its quality of hair that makes a difference on show day if you ask me...and there is no supplement for quality of hair, the cooler wont even improve hair quality, the only thing that will improve hair quality is work, work, work

melatoninimplants.com

When you say implants people automatically think of growth hormone implants because they are the most popular, and are what is associated with the term "implants". Their website has all the information you need to know, but its not going to be any cheaper than feeding flair. Your looking at $80 a month plus a $15 applicator with a recommend use of 3-4 months. So your looking at $240-$320 a head.

JUST THREE WORDS WOULD HAVE SAVED HARSH WORDS, CONFUSION, AND WOULD HAVE ALLOWED FOR PEOPLE TO KNOW 100% WHAT YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT.

The first time I heard about the implants for hair growth was only a couple weeks ago. I've never had a problem growing hair living this far north in canada where a really hot day to me and the cattle is 85 and a nice day in winter is 0.But I am interested in what people that have used it think about it and how it's worked for them? How much more hair do they grow?

They work, but its not a -feed and forget- type of deal. You still have to work with them daily and you will see good results.

The increased melatonin levels trick the body into thinking winter is coming so they think they need to grow hair to protect them. It triggers hair growth, but if its really hot they still arent going to put on a lot of hair, you have put a lot of time into keeping the cattle cool and working the hair if you want to see any results.  If you are one of us that isnt fortunate enough to have a cooler to work with, then you need to be rinsing that calf at least a couple times a day(in the middle of the day if possible) for at least 15 minutes at a time minimum to really cool off the calves body temperature if you want any hair.
I actually prefer products like flair over the implants.  Implants are just melatonin which triggers hair growth = more hair if you put work into them. The other products generally contain other supplements geared towards hair health = more healty hair instead of just more hair.
I am a firm believer and will preach to the day I die that the key here is not just more hair, but in the quality, workability and health of the hair.

Huh sweet deal. I doubt I'll every need to use them but now I know how it works thanks. I 100% agree with "the quality of hair is more important then the amount." The goal is to have both, but I'd rather have quality then quantity.
