We will be going with 2 bulls and a heifer for the chi sale.  Heifer is a Point Taken x Maine/Angus.  Early summer pic attached.  Taking an Unforgiven x Sim/angus bull and a Duff New Edition x Destiny's Ace straight ChiAngus bull.  Will have pics in a couple of weeks on the bulls and will post then.

Not to Hijack the thread....but:  Chap did you purchase your new edition/ace bull from the Deiter Dispersal, did you purchase a bred ace daughtere, or did you just raise the calf?  I ask because we have used a lot of their bulls and bought some of their cows.  We didn't care for the new edition calves when we viewed them prior to the sale, but a lot of people commented that they were late bloomers.  If you don't mind, what is the story on your calf.

We bot a group of Ace daughters out of the Deiter Dispersal.  Most of them were bred to New Edition and Copyright.  We kept the best New Edition Bull and a Copyright bull to sell.  The Copyright is a late April but is coming on nicely, just don't think he will be big enough for a February sale.  The females from the Ace x Duff crosses are very nice females and we sure wish we had more of them.  out of 21 head we bot we only got 6 heifers.  The Duff cattle seem to be a little later coming on than your typical clubby deals.  They were all born small even out of some high BW cows.  looked pretty frail in comparison to our clubby bred stuff, but have caught up now. 
The New Edition bull that we are selling is really deep, correctly made and sound.  I really think he will make a tremendous maternally oriented, clean pedigreed option for club calf herds hoping to infuse more efficient, maternal characteristics wihtout sacrificing style and muscle or into commercially oriented herds looking to a homozygous black polled bull with moderate calving ease, growth and efficiency.  He is 10.3 % Chi 86.5% Angus.  SCF Power Edition 67W. Born on 4/12/09,  He had bw of 86 lbs, adj weaning at 761.  I would peg him at a 6 frame.  Solid black and polled and registered ChiAngus 1CA - reg number 344907

Again not to hijack the thread but did your Copyright calf get Chiangus papers or did he get Chimaine papers.

Dero, I'm counting on you to keep us up to date on the Momentum calves next spring. Have you ever tried the CTR Success bull Dero? Input please if you have. I was told last night that Success does not have any holes in him & that DeJong's use quite abit of him. I was told today that Majors also use him some.

For those of you that bought the Dieter Bro's cattle, what are the dispositions like please? I've just heard rumors that they can be what should we say, Protective!!!

Haven't registered the Coprright calf yet.  So can't tell you what they will classify him as.  as far as the Deiter cows.  We can say with certainty that they will "mother up"  I have never been around a group that is as protective and aggressive about getting thier calves up and going.  they will literally lift them off the ground and yell at them to get them going.  they are a little bit of a challencge the first week or so, but after that seem to get their hormones in check and are ok to deal with.

Thanks Chap. I'd heard that they would protect their young. Some of the EXT's would "yell" at'em too. Don't you love the cows that you can't really tell if they like the calf or they're just trying to make'em stronger. Get up just to be knocked back down. It's called determination.
