Through our gmail account, I have created an Excel spreadsheet using Google Docs. I can access these records both on my iPhone and my desktop. Updates can be made from anywhere. It is a little cumbersome to use on my phone, but it does work.

We also love using the Google Calendar. Each family member can have their own schedule, and you can select which gmail accounts can view which calendars.

There is another thread going now about herd management software. Cattlemax appears to be the tool of choice and it has a mobile version/app. There is a monthly subscription for it though. I use a couple of excel spreadsheets, sync and store them in Dropbox(cloud storage) and access them on my iphone with Docstogo (app that allows you to read and edit office docs on your Iphone)
