There was an feed additive called calf pop or baby pop that was used, not really sure what it was.
Is this a ground mix from your feed mill?
What % of protein is it? What are you feeding it too? Finally are you happy w/ your results your getting? If so than don't change.

JUST FEEDING MY 4-H STEER,IT'S GOOD AND RIGHT NOW HE'S STARTIN TO "COME INTO IT" AS THEY SAY. HE'S DEFINENTLY HAIRY NOW AND STARTIN TO FILL OUT.
A COUPLE YEARS AGO ON THIS SAME MIX I HAD RATE OF GAIN STEER BUT HAD A YOUNGER STEER TO BUTCHER. ABOUT TWO MONTHS YOUNGER AND HE "CAME INTO IT " LATER AND WAS THE BEST. THIS ONE THIS YEAR IS GONNA DO REALLY GOOD (clapping). HE'S JUST A LITTLE MEAN ;D

Personally if he's doing good I'd stay on it. I hate to switch feeds on them too often. It can really throw them off feed & create more of a mess.
Just hang in there, work w/ him as much as possible, keep a level/cool head & he'll come around!
