That could be an interesting combo.  Let us know how it turns out for you.  I have a triple bred Cigar heifer (bred to WMW) right now, due in Aug.  JPJ made my list of bulls for breeding season.  So please keep us posted.

Okay thanks everyone! DLB is your heifer a little larger framed? And the only calving ease I had in the tank was Duff Outer Limits, Northern Improvement, JPJ, and a couple straws of the original Ali but I didn't want to use that. But I thought that it might be kinda cool.

My Cigar heifer is more of a moderate framed female.  She is going to be a ground sow.  She is bred to WMW and I have a red GodfatherXchar bred to Ali.  I am considering JPJ for either 1 of them for 2nd calves.  I did see somewhere (maybe on showsteers) a JPJX Char heifer...I'll have to go find here and post it on here.

I can only imagine what that calf is gonna look like, lots of natural fleshing, lots of hair, lots of bone. Ive herd of lots of places switching their AI to just JPJ, just to avoid the calving problems. Thing is that the calves are pretty nice though.

Old World Shortie...thats what i have been hearing too. Thanks for all the responses everyone. She has a monster hip in her and a big top. She is also very sound....just needs a little downsizing.

A pic of my JPJ x Char/Angus is in the classifieds. She is a strawberry roan. I will probably end up keeping her as a replacement. I've seen many others that were out of Char or Char cross cattle out at Glovers that were flat nice. I think you will be pleased. JPJ has been pretty good to us - he's not for every cow but sure has his place.

Last that I heard the Char Cigar semen is somewhere around 200... a straw ,the females seem to be better than the bulls, a little birth weight , some fertility problems with Cigar himself, but the females are very valuable  to the right person. There were some char-shorthorn showing in Neb. that did well last fall an were real cool to look at someone said.

Jake has more than Proved his place in both the Shorthorn and club calf circles. It took a lot of me raising hell, and Dustin Glover raising great calves to prove our point about ole JAKE. Now days there are really good sons and daughters that are gettinbg due diligence.Like Shortdawg said: He don't work for everyone, but 99% of the people that have used him,are extremely satisfied. Last Year Kris Black Had most of his heifers bred to Dirty Harry. This year most are bred to JAZZMAN a JAKE son that GLOVER,KITE, and BAILEY FARMS own. If Jazzman will breed only remotely as good as his Daddy, there should be some decent genetics around for sometime.
