I worked for them for the sale! Probably the most complete set of steers and heifers that i have seen! He was extremely happy with how it turned out. I didn't get the one bought that i wanted. I will probably regretting not buying her...  ;D.

CAB...did you get to see the set in person??  I thought they looked really good online too!  I've never heard of their operation, so thought perhaps there might be some 'sleepers' in there.  Quickly realized I was wrong...everyone seemed to find the good ones!

I had to go down & see them. Went Sunday. John & Dianne have raised some very good cattle in the past and these are no exception. The smoke heifer is a no visible faults kind of a calf. It will be fun to see where she ends up. I was hoping that there may be a sleeper or 2 show up, but instead some of the calves may have brought a little more than they may should have B/C of buyers sliding down. The tag 6 and 20 steers IMO will come on as they age. Te Adrenaline heifer will make a great cow IMO. The Grand Torino heifer may end up being special. I couldn't read her for sure. The tag # 22 steer IMO will be a great early steer. He will take some management to hold his weight down early. He'll weigh 650/700 now. The tag # 5 heifer was as complete of Walks Alone heifer that I have seen. I kind of think that the tag# 1 steer may burn early. He is super impressive now and has a ton of muscle & bone. That is all calf under the hair. A tick strait on his wheels especially rears. The tag # 4 steer is extremely complete and has enough of everything and not too much of anything. The tag#12 heifer will be a beauty when she grows up and is very similar to her flushmate steer.

Even my 9 year old son found that baldy lot #12 heifer!!  I said we could keep an eye on her...but he knows enough about math that it wasn't going to happen...

At least he has a good eye and a concept of what reality is for most of us blue collar PPL.

He's kind of like his old man...always looking for a diamond in the rough!  As a past judging team member, it's never too early to teach them "the good ones from the bad".  He's grasping the concept of what the high dollar ones sell for...but he's happy with an affordable one for now too.  When a 9 year old can say "whoah....that's WAY too much for that one", he might be actually getting it!  ;D
