pretty low mpg on both vehicles. what do they do that cars don't do?
1. Live on a gravel road that is low maintainence, and will be getting LOWER... so need 4 wheel drive capabilities.
2. They sit up higher than cars. They can go through higher snow (see above).
3. I would rather PULL something out of the trunk, than LIFT it out. (Car is for my Mom.... she is getting so lifting isn't an option.)
4. Easier to get in and out of due to space and height. (See number 2)
5. We haul things sometimes a car can not... calves, lambs, lumber, feed in the rain, etc.
6. Cars we looked at ranged in the 20-28. The little SUV's get 18-22. Sorry, not much of difference!
I have a truck to do the heavy stuff, but need a "tweener" when a truck isn't neccessary, yet a car won't do the job. Can't afford car AND suv, so getting the "all purpose".
The large SUV's are too big for what Mom wants, but these smaller ones are pretty nice.
