Heifer April 30 momma goes back to Bakenhus. She has a ton of hair. I spent two hours trying to get through it last weekend. she needs more. Of course they always get dirty for pictures.
Steer April 20 I know he breaks a tick in his shoulder. He has a ton of hair

Both are shorthorn plus

That steer really has some bone.  I like the heifer also.  I take she is the one in your avatar.

Really really nice calves Shawn..if I had to change the heifer, I would make her a  little softer in her front leg structure, she looks like she might get just a little too straight, but that could very well be the pictures too.  If the steer was just a little stronger behind his shoulder, he would be VERY hard to beat, and I think he can still probably win some county shows.  If I didn't already have an Appendix heifer for next year, I would really really want yours...ours are kind of similar looking as well...

I am with you on the steer. he tends to break a just behind the shoulder. He is hairy as heck which helps. He will be an easy feeder and his temperment is wonderful.
The heifer is not as straight as she appears. No one wanted to cooperate with me for pictures. I caught her as she stopped. The you tube video I took shows them all. They all move pretty good. She is pretty special to us. I am afraid she might be a bit "steery" for some. You would just have to see her in person.
I appreciate your feedback! I respect the planet members opinions as there are some high quality cattle on this board.
Thank you,
OH B
Shawn

What's the calf to the left of the heifer in the 1st pic please? Brent
CAB in the first photo beside the heifer is a steer. He is a Who da Man out of Taz x Glitter cow. He is really cool. stout and thick. Has been out once and won his class but in the final drive just got out massed by older calves. He is late March.
Thank you for those compliments. The clean up bull did a good job for us. We are pretty happy with what we have.

OB, can you help me out? Sullivan's had some good Who Da Man calves, I've tried, but can't seem to find a pic of the bull or any info. Any info would be appreciated. The steer in the 1st pic will be stout. Look @ how wide based he stands. If he can walk, he'll talk. Thanks. Brent

Who Da Man was bred by Winegardners here in Ohio. Attached is his picture. The Glitter in this calf goes back to Harding's Glitter. he is pretty stout and sound as a cat. The judge said he looked like a mini fat steer and would love to have used him for reserve but the calves were much older. Thanks again.

Breaking behind the shoulders a little is the only thing I could possibly see wrong with them.  Nice, big boned, well-muscled calves.

What kind of creep feed do you use?  (% protein, fat, etc).

Very nice looking cattle that look like they'd do well slick down here also.

Thank you for compliments. He has the largest bone of all the calves. I know you don't eat bone. ;)
We use Umbarger's Breeder Grower, we add a little calf manna and beet pulp. Kind of our own formula. They usually do pretty good coming off the cow.

I saw them in person the other day and they really strike you with the stoutness of bone, especially the steer, and maintain soundness well, even being that stout. The steer does break in his top, but will still make a nice county one in the right hands. He's for sure got the potential to be hairy enough to hide it some. Telos' cool looking is the best way to describe that little heifer. She is kinda smallish framed, but not too little, real stout and clubby looking, and has SHAG hair. OHB has a real nice set all together, esp considering his cow numbers. Well done!
