I can't believe calving season is almost over for us now. It seemed like yesterday that i was anxiously awaiting some of our matings and dreading calving out all the first calf heifers!! We used Monopoly, Walks Alone, Milkman, Carpe Diem and we cleaned up with our Alias grandson and a new bull that is a Lifeline son x Donor 85 (Hannibal).

Walks Alone clicked really really good on our HooDoo bred females and our char x angus females. We used Monopoly on our more crossed up, stouter made charolais cows. I would love to hear your opinions on the calves! I would also like to hear from others with charolais cross and HooDoo females what worked best for yall. Thanks

Thanks for all the compliments guys!  Gargan, the 197 calf has an identical twin, so hopefully we can double our money!  They were both actually full size calves.  Both weighed around 80-85 a piece.

Very Nice..Congrats

What were the BW's on your Milkmans and did you have any calving problems with him?  How did you like his calves in general?

Thanks

The birthweights were  anywhere from 75-90 lbs with Milkman. Our best calf this year is a Milkman x Who Made Who. I just haven't got a good pic yet.  Knock on wood, but we have not ever had to touch a calf out of any of our second calvers and on with any bull.

Who is showing your Monopoly x 98 calf this year?  How's he turning out?

Good looking calves.  Are you still selling your top end through Kris?

A family out in Clyde bought the calf. He is looking very good. They are not getting him out much.

We only sold calves through Kris for a couple years. We've been selling everything out of our place. Just seems to work out better for us.
