"Kopu II was selected for stolen density, persistence under grazing, high yield, and large leaf size. This was achieved primarily by selection under cattle grazing in the northern United States and sheep grazing in New Zealand.

Kopu II, bred by AgResearch Grasslands of New Zealand, was selected from a world collection of white clovers. Penn State University and the University of Wisconsin participated in the selection and evaluation of the cultivar. In trials in Lancaster, Arlington, and Marshfield, Wisconsin Kopu II has exhibited improved yield and persistence over Alice (known as the industry standard)."

Thought some of you grazers would appreciate this stand of  clover.  This is it's second year.  Our kids like it because it is full of really big four leaf clovers. ;D  Cows like it for obvious reasons.

that's stolon density.

stolon density is good, as it will throw down a root at the nodes, resisting uprooting, and regrowth.

i noticed your stand.  very nice.  suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucra seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed.

nice ratio as well.  you are getting free nitrogen from the atmosphere.  some day there will be a shortage if you keep this up.

Good thing it free from the clover.  Too costly to buy anymore.

This clover has had two good WET years.  We will see how it fairs during one of our inevitable droughts.  So far it is spreading great by the nodes.  The leaf is huge looks more like a red clover than a white.
