Additional Expo Activities

   
Trade Show - (managed by Carrie Taylor 859-842-3347) Open Friday and Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Several Agribusiness Companies on display.
   
Youth Judging Contest - Saturday, March 3rd, 8:00 a.m.  (Open to all 4-H & FFA members), registration will begin at 7:00 a.m in Newmarket Hall.  There is a $5 per person entry fee.
   
Junior Heifer Show- This is a Jackpot show open to all 4-H/FFA members regardless of residence.  A Top Five will be awarded $1,000, $700, $500, $300, & $100.  The open show breed champions and reserve champions will be awarded $50 and $25 along with a banner.  The same applies for the Kentucky Owned Breed Champions. Kentucky Supreme Champion $500, Reserve $300, and 3rd-5th receiving additional prizes and awards.  A breed must have 10 head in order to qualify for a breed show, if not they will be shown in the A.O.B Division.  There is a $50/head entry fee and no pre-registration required.  Heifers are to be checked in Saturday, March 3rd, 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. (Exception: Expo Sale Heifers).  Show is Sunday, March 4th, 8:00 a.m.
   
Steer and Market Heifer Show- A Prospect Steer and Market Heifer Jackpot Show will be held on Sunday, March 4th, 8:00 a.m., open to all 4-H and FFA members regardless of residence.  Steers and market heifers are to be weighed in Saturday, March 3rd, at 5:00 - 7:30 p.m.  There is a $50/head entry fee and no pre-registration required.    Sponsored breed shows are offered as well as a crossbred steer division and a market heifer division, with Champions receiving $50 and Reserve Champions $25 along with a banner.  Champions and Reserves from each breed will compete for Overall Top Five.  The Overall Top Five market animals will receive $1,000, $700, $500, $300, & $100.  A separate Kentucky steer show will also be held with Champion awarded $500, Reserve $300, and 3rd- 5th receiving additional prizes and awards.
