I was planning on attending their dispersal sale in October to pick up a few cows, but yesterday I was at a farm clipping and I saw 4 of their cows running in this guys pasture and it made me rethink my decision. They were a rack of bones (on knee high grass). The guy also told me that they cant milk to save their life, they have never had a average calf they're always below average, and they lost weight from the time he brought them home. Has anyone else had any experience with Lazy H cattle. What were they? How did they milk? and how did they're calves look. I was planning on going to their sale and buying 2 or 3, but I cant afford to add below average cows to my herd and paying an arm and a leg because they look awesome at the sale. Any info on experience with Lazy H cattle would be appreciated. Not bashing them at all, just saying what I saw and not wanting to get burnt later this year

I have never heard a bad story about Lazy H cattle, and in the show ring world they are usually in the top. I can give you my personal experience; I bought a set of embryos in their online sale earlier this year. They shipped the embryos in my shipper, and when they arrived they were warm. I called them up, and they immediately replaced them with BETTER embryos! The embryos I bought were Chopper, and there were no more so they replaced them with Lock N Load x Misti cow. They paid for the shipping. No questions asked. So I would gladly do business with them again. We put just one of the embryos in, and just sexed the calf today (cow is 70 days), and of course it is a bull. But with one egg I already have a pregnancy.
There are so many variables to consider in that situation; does he worm? is the grass fescue? It sounds like he had had more than one set of calves out of the cows, so he has had them for awhile, sounds like management issues to me. Look at the genetics of the cows you see, what are they?
Just my experience.

I did not know Lazy H was having a dispersal. I checked on their website today and it didn't say anything. I'm curious where this is advertised.

You got to remember that most of the sales have their cows gob fat for the sale.  This reduces their milking ability and they aren't use to be on grass without a steer stuffer.  I have never bought anything from Lazy H, but their cattle look real good in the pictures.  Just take that into consideration when buying.
