Lot 14 Midwest Shorthorn Spectacular Sale

Here is a photo of MSD Ruby S 0732 *x that is Lot 14 in the Shorthorn sale at the Illinois Beef Expo Feb 26. We didn't get a decent photo by catalog time, so here is a photo from last Saturday. She and her dam are triple bred Rubys and she is from the dependable Princess Royal cow family on the top side. Her maternal granddam is a 3/4 sister to the Max Rosa branch of the Ruby family. Thanks, here is a pic of her sire EJS Spear 848 when he was 6 1/2 months old and his sire Ar Su Lu Spear 320 when he was five, a way underused bull in my opinion.

Here is a photo of her mother when she was a calf and one of her grand mother as a five year old. The good udders go back several generations.

Our thanks to Scott Horton, St. Charles, Ill for her purchase to add to his strong herd. The whole sale was active, the best the association has had, topped by the Jordan bull selling at $11,000 to a syndicate, the Leemon open heifer at $4000 and the Johnson bred heifer at $5800.
