Low birth weight Angus bulls

I'm looking for a some good low birth weight angus bulls to cross some of my higher % maine heifers to this year.

We are using a couple of ABS bulls that are exceptional for calving ease on some daughters of our PB maine bull sired by Covino III.  The bulls we bred to are Analyst, Mainline, and New Design 878, check them out on ABSglobal.com under angus.

Thanks for the help. Have you used Analyst before? Someone else told me they were useing him this year too, have you seen any of his calves?

I like the OCC bulls. Doctor, Homer, Focus & Judge. Not sure on BW's though.

I agree with CB3 and Red's  comments on the OCC bulls. The picture in my profile is my 3 year Angus II  Legend son that was out of a OCC Joker cow. His calves have come small and I couldn't be happier with them. My maine heifers all had no problems and the calves were in the mid 70 range. My bulls birthweight is 68 lbs.  My heifers that were out of club calf bulls had slightly higher birthweight calves, 81 and 82 lbs, but I expected them to be a little bit bigger.  I have used Homer with no problems and Echelon with no problems on heifers as well.

Having bred Angus for the very 1st time last year (as a result of both PHA paranoia and different marketing plan) I can provide you with an N of one - an 85 lb Northern Improvement bull calf  out of a Payoff x Patent heifer - she popped him right out and he got up and bouncing - nice calf, growing well. Show heifer has tons (maybe not quite tons) of experience with Angus bulls and heifers.....this year I have used the Red Angus bull Leachman Heavenly - got him for my red Maines but thought he would work for the black ones too. Good EPDs for BW and calving ease and good reports from the field....time (as always) will tell...

I will try and give you my honest opinions on several bulls, but let me know if I miss one you might be interested in!

OCC Legend: Will make the calves thick, and stout, and definately downsize them. Make makes them nice patterned.
TC Freedom: Very stylish. Very pretty. Maybe not power houses, but very functional and very showy, classy.
878: Not a fan of his. Just didn't work with my cattle. To sloppy up front and lacks bone.
Lut: Ok, nothing to write home about, but calving ease. Maybe they get better as they older.
Morgan's Direction: Seems to be gaining popularity....nice functional cattle. Not too showy, but stylish. Growthy
BC Lookout: A bit new but should be ok on heifers. Nice numbers and really adds a soggy look.
T510: Can't miss here! Nice numbers, nice calves, super sellable calves that really are the front pasture kind.
Buffalos Conclusive: Another new-ish bull. But has some proof behind him. Adds nice hip and a clean front.  Adds some frame and also the pounds!
Juneau: Nice sytlish showy calves. Come small and improve every day. Super sound. Nice hip.

traveler 8607 T510, great females Have a great Power Plant x Traveler, really like her broody.
Northern Improvement, may not be super massive, but will be pretty. Hairy too. Mossy oak small framed 4.5 to 5 frame score had a NI baby unassisted weighed about 60#s. Up ate immediately and is very easy to deal with. Will make a pretty show steer.

My brother calved out 1st calf heifers bred to occ homer on cornstalks 10 miles away from the closest corral. All born unassisted. They jumped and suckled in a hurry.
