Hello , early this morning around 4 o clock I woke up to the sound of my dogs barking. I walked outside and could hear water splashing (I was aware my heifers were about to calf), I instantly knew what happened. I literally ran to the corral barefoot and seen my newborn calf accidentally fell into my water trough. It was horrible , I pulled him out and let the momma smell him immediately. I brought him inside and started up a fire right away. Poor thing was breathing a bit heavy and I see some drool coming out his mouth. I was reading online that they will still drink no matter if they are a bit hypothermic. I'm praying he will be okay. I've been drying him off with a hairdryer and it looks like he's not breathing as heavily. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Any kind of advice to give? Thanks
