We finally made it to TN for Jr. Nationals. When I mean we, I mean both kids and both heifers made it alive along with myself lol. I harmed nobody or anything making this long drive here. Drove in solid rain storms from MO to TN.
Day 1: Started out as chaotic as any first day of Jr. Nationals do. TN welcomed us with high temps and mugginess. Midday we are sitting around and the tornado sirens go off. You can tell were a bunch of farmers lol...of course what do we do? Yep, make the kids blow the heifers and we sit and watch for a while. After the second round of sirens go off, the men make us women take the kids to shelter. From what I understand there was a tornado spotted 8 miles north of us. Thank goodness it stayed there.
Cook off contests were great, open ceremonies done, posters and pictures turned it....tomorrow 8 a.m. showmanship then off to the speeches!
I'll try to update you all tomorrow! Take care and keep the crappy storms away from us the rest of the week lol!
Here are my kids photo contest entries. Evan age 7 took the goofy one of his sister. Danielle took the ones of Evan and Jules.
