purebred, Ali X Fisher donor Jewel, BD march 09, weight about 830, TH, PHA free...first haircut this week... I know there is not a rear shot but although she doesn't have a Heatwave butt she is plenty powerful, feet face forward, seems to walk out OK

this is the first picture of the finished product... would appreciate your criticisms, we are planning to flush her and need to know the faults to help pick mates

Nice heifer. She has plenty of bone , length of spine. Looks like she has adequate thickness and hair. Lacks forerib and rib length and looks a little steerish. You need a bull with rib shape and neck extension. I would naturally breed her to Ramblin Fever. Flush to ? Maybe Dr.Who.

appreciate both of your thoughts, she has always been a "chunk" but now it seems like her legs have stretched out relative to her ribs thus looking a little more short ribbed... I can see it better after you guys pointed it out... as to a proposed mating... any higher percent Maine thoughts? I have been looking at whiskey rebellion... will the front stay clean enough?I know that this heifer is not goose fronted but I think she is clean fronted enough

Way too Steery for what I like in a female.  I would go back a few years and breed her to DMCC Poleroid 29AET.

I would like to see her softer and more maternal in her look. I guess if she were mine I would use something like Gigelo Joe or Open Bar if you want to a high percent calf. If you don't mind a maintainer baby i think Northern Improvement would give you a nice heifer. If your wanting steers instead of heifers I think Monopoly could work. Just my thoughts.

My favorite on maine heifers (I know its no surprise) is Majors Money Man.  My 2nd pick is Gigolo Joe.  If I was a gambling woman, I'd even consider Dr. Who...but for me I get scared of his consistancy of calving ease to use on my heifers.  My first 2 picks have worked great in my herd.  My heifers went to Money Man, Gigolo Joe, and Mucho Dinero.

I would go with  dr. who, I have used him on the same kinda cows and have had alot of luck. As long as she has a good set of legs I would use him. JMO.

I'd go with Gigolo Joe to soften her up and make her a bit more feminine made. Or money man. We have a money man calf coming this april out of our dr. who heifer, should be interesting as to what he does for the calf.
